A Macon native, Dr. Kim W. Johnston is a graduate of Valdosta State College. He received his medical degree in 1981 from the Medical College of Georgia. Following a general surgery internship at the Medical College in Augusta, he completed a residency in Neurosurgery at the same Institution. Post graduate courses were taken later at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Bethesda Md., and at the Cook County (Il.) Graduate School of Medicine.
Currently Chairman of Neurosurgery at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, he is also Chairman of the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit and a member of the hospital's operating room, ethics and credentialing committees.
He is a staff neurosurgeon at HCA Coliseum Hospital.
Dr. Johnston has contributed numerous articles to professional journals and has addressed quite a few neurological seminars throughout the country.
