 A Macon native, Dr. Hugh F. Smisson III received his undergraduate degree in business at Emory University, Atlanta, in 1979. Two years later he entered the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and received his doctorate in medicine from that institution in 1986.
Interning in the Department of Surgery there, Dr. Smisson went on to a neurosurgical residency, 1987-1992. Since entering this highly specialized field, he has made numerous professional presentations, written and oral. As a result, his reputation is rapidly growing among colleagues across the country.
Dr. Smisson specializes in diseases of the cervical spine.
